I grew up in Montgomery County, MD so I used to go to the Frederick games all the time as well. I love Grove Stadium and agree that Pfitzer really needs some work. I played at nicer ballparks in high school. It's especially depressing to know that there are men's slow pitch softball games going on less than 50 feet away during the game(and some of them have larger, louder crowds).

I saw Holder make his Potomac debut last Friday and came away impressed. I think he'll have a shot as a Major league starter but he's still a good 2 or 3 years awy from that.

Everyone on Potomac has issues with striking out it seems. Marrero had an especially rough night at the plate.

Anyway, thanks for reading.

I live in Northeast DC, and I try to catch the minor league teams when I can as well. The things that bug me about Potomac is that the ballpark is really old and decrepit, and when you factor in parking, it's more expensive than going to Frederick. I've had a much better experience catching the P-Nats when they play Frederick on the road, although I try to catch Potomac when I can leave DC early enough to avoid the bulk of the traffic down I-95.

I keep hoping Burgess will turn the corner and cut down on his strikeouts. Marrero is where he belongs and he has made some improvement. I'm not totally sold on him being the first basement of the future yet, but he's got a shot. Sounds like Storen had an off night when you were there.

I saw Holder when I went this past Thursday. He looked good for the first couple of innings then struggled with his command some and ended up getting hit pretty good.

I get the sense that Potomac's best starters, Mandel, Arneson, and Meyers have been promoted up to Harrisburg and it's going to be tough for the P-Nats to hold off Wilmington and make the playoffs with recent call-ups.

Always root for the P-Nats and keep up the good work on the blog.
