Opening day is getting closer and closer, and in preparation, the Nats have headed down to Florida to their winter home in Viera. There’s a lot of new faces on the field and a lot of them will be making debuts in Washington soon enough. For one, it’s looking more like both catcher Jesus Flores and Ivan Rodriguez will be splitting the shift. Also number one pick pitcher Stephen Strasburg will be making his debut against the Tigers on March 9. Not much has happened in the world of the Nats recently and it’s probably because the capital has once again been blasted by a huge blizzard, and the city is in a complete lock down. Or engaged in a massive snowball fight.

After much speculation, Orlando Hudson will not be joining the Nationals. MLB.com said today that he will most likely be going to the Twins. Now the question remains, will Washington will try to bring in someone else to fill the position? We will have to wait and see. On a happier note, exactly a month from today on March 4, Spring Training games start as the Nats will face off against both Houston and Florida.
