Bryce Harper is Officially a Washington National

After months of no news regarding his signing, #1 overall pick Bryce Harper has officially signed with the Washington Nationals. The deal is 9.9 million total over 5 years, with a 6.25 Million dollar signing bonus, 2million dollar roster bonuses for 2014 and 2015 and is a major league deal. This signing gives the Nats both the top young pitcher(Stras) and the top position prospect in baseball. The signing of the left-handed hitting slugging Harper gives Washington an answer to the other young OF stars in the division- Atlantas Jason Heyward and Phillys Domonic Brown. Most importantly the signing shows Nationals fans- and there is more of us out there than it seems, as well as the rest of baseball that Washington’s management want to be big time players and have a plan in place to get there. With the Mets in their usual state of disarray, Philly and Atlanta getting old, and the Marlins stuck in the Marlins traditional spot as everyones farm system, a real contender is being built in the nations capitol.
