FanGraphs' Top 15 Nationals Prospects

The crew at FanGraphs have started to publish their organization top prospects lists – which are always an enjoyable read -and their post on the Washington Nationals is up. Regrettably I missed this when it was first published, as that was back on November 1st, but it’s better late than never.

In short, here are the Top 15 prospects in the Nationals’ organization according to FanGraphs:

  1. Bryce Harper, RF
  2. Anthony Rendon, 2B/3B
  3. A.J. Cole, RHP
  4. Alex Meyer, RHP
  5. Brian Goodwin, CF
  6. Matt Purke, LHP
  7. Brad Peacock, RHP
  8. Robbie Ray, LHP
  9. Derek Norris, C
  10. Destin Hood, RF/LF
  11. Sammy Solis, LHP
  12. Chris Marrero, 1B
  13. Stephen Lombardozzi, 2B
  14. Zach Walters, SS
  15. Jeff Kobernus, 2B

Within the FanGraphs post there are scouting reports and some thoughts on each prospects career outlook. Rather than transcribing it all here, I do recommend giving it a read. At quick glance the organization has some promising depth working its way through the system in the starting rotation, corner outfield, and middle infield positions.

We’ll be taking a quick glance at Baseball America’s top prospect list as well this week, before publishing DoD’s Inagural Top Prospect list over the coming weeks.
