It is my pleasure to announce that today is a very special day on District On Deck. Today we celebrate the birthday of our beloved senior editor, Aaron Somers.
Aaron has been a pleasure to work with over these past few months, and I’m looking forward to many many more. He was also kind enough to give me, a 15 year old aspiring writer, a shot at writing on District On Deck. So, I’d like to express my gratitude for the opportunity along with this birthday wish.
Aaron has also brought aboard our two other writers, Andrew Flax and Stephen Walker. Andrew joined not long after I did, and I believe he will agree that Aaron has given us nothing but a positive experience covering the team we all love. Steve joined just recently, but has already jumped right into things, getting two posts up within the past week and a half. If you’ve checked out pieces of either of these two authors, you’ll see that these guys were great finds by Aaron.
But, Aaron does much more than just correcting the mistakes that each of us (myself in particular) make. He also supplies about 99% of the content you guys see here on District On Deck. Recent highlights include his stellar breakdown of potential center field targets for the Nationals, as well as his look at the trade that sent Christian Guzman out of Washington.
Happy birthday Aaron, this site wouldn’t be the same without you.
Sincerely (On Behalf Of Our Entire Staff),
