DoD Content Recap: January 15-21

We’re less than a month away from Spring Training. The Washington Nationals’ pitchers and catchers will begin reporting to Viera, Florida on February 19th. At this point, the organization has addressed most of their offseason needs but there is still time remaining for another move or two.

We have two brief DoD announcements to share. There will be an additional voice joining us this week, as Marty Niland will be joining the DoD staff. Marty has been a professional journalist for at least 20 years, having spent 10 years working for the Associated Press. He’s a long time Nationals fan who previously covered the team during their arrival in Washington and through the opening of Nationals Park in 2008. He’ll certainly provide another great perspective to our staff.

Also, there are some cosmetic changes coming to the FanSided Network in the coming weeks. Our minor league site, Seedlings to Stars, is already showcasing the new look that you’ll be seeing here at DoD in the coming weeks.

This past week was a bit of a slow one here at DoD, but rest assured we have plenty planned for the coming weeks before the season begins. In the mean time, let’s recap the week that was.
