DoD Content Recap: April 29 – May 5

Injuries continue to be a trend for the Nationals as the season continues to progress, but luckily to date the team has been able to overcome them. Time will tell how the latest crop of concerns will affect the lineup long term.

Mark DeRosa landed on the DL early in the week, someplace he’s been accustom to being listed for most of the past two seasons. His injury ultimately opened a door for another of the team’s top prospects, Tyler Moore, to make his way to the Majors and into the lineup. Adam LaRoche missed a few games towards the end of the week, but by all accounts will be able to avoid a trip to the DL. The team also received news late in the week that Ryan Zimmerman is nearly set to return.

The big focus for the week, however, was the series at home against the Phillies – the “Take Back the Park” campaign we’ve been hearing about since early in Spring Training. Nationals fans came out in droves. The team won on both Friday and Saturday. Marty was able to attend one of the weekend’s games, and shared his thoughts about the campaign on Saturday afternoon.

Final numbers on the week: 21 new posts. 1 contest (see Tuesday).
