Just at the tail end of Washington’s first homestand of the season, the Sunday contest against the Miami Marlins had to be post-poned due to rain. In a sense the timing worked out well, as it afforded the Nationals an extra day of rest before beginning a West Coast road trip early on in the season, but there was some uncertainty as to when the game would be re-scheduled.

The club announced this past Friday that the makeup game has been re-scheduled for Friday, August 3rd. The Nationals were to start a three-game series against the Marlins at Nationals Park that day, but it will now simply be a four-game affair instead. First pitch will be scheduled for around 4:05 PM for the first game. The second will begin around 7:05 PM, depending on how long the first game takes to play.

According to details passed along by Mark Zuckerman, fans who held tickets to the April 22nd game that was originally rained out can exchange them for seats of equal or lesser value for the August 3rd game or another home game this season. Fans with tickets to the August 3rd game will gain admission to both contests.
