@bherring24 I’d have to agree that LaRoche has lost any chance of making it thanks to the fact that he cooled down so much. Had he kept up his early pace he might have stood a chance at starting the game.

Gonzalez and Strasburg both seem like safe bets. If the game were tomorrow I’d have to say Gio could be in consideration to start the game, but we’ll see how the next few weeks go before making that determination. It’d be nice to see Harper make the game off the bench. People would be excited to see him – which is what the game is supposed to be all about, as kkolchack mentioned.

Gonna be fascinating to see who they go with. Right now, I’d say Strasburg and Gio are locks, assuming no huge slide. Harper’s the only position player I can see making it, since LaRoche has cooled considerably.

Unless he goes into a deep slump prior to the All Star break, I completely agree. He’s already a great player and the fans want to see him. That’s what the AS game is supposed to be all about.
