Nationals Extend Chad Tracy

There wasn’t much said when the Washington Nationals first signed Chad Tracy this past winter. He was just another veteran who’d be invited to Spring Training with little chance at making the roster. Today, the Nationals signed him to an extension that will bring him back for the 2013 season. Terms have not yet been disclosed, but it seems likely he’ll earn a little more than the $750,000 he’s made this season.

Tracy has proven to be a viable option off the bench this season. He’s batting .283/.353/.517 on the year, with 3 HR and 13 RBI in 68 plate appearances.
