Karns Makes Second Career Start As Nats Look To Win Series

Karns, who worked 4.2 innings in a mediocre first start versus the Baltimore Orioles, looks to go deeper into this game and showcase the fastball-curve combination that led to his being named as a consensus top 100 prospect. The hard throwing righty will be opposed by will be opposed by veteran lefty Paul Maholm. Maholm, who has had a rough stretch recently after a phenomenal start to the season, will attempt to pick up his seventh victory of 2013.
