Ross Detwiler To Make Rehab Start At Potomac Today

As the final step in his recovery from an oblique injury, Ross Detwiler will make a rehab start at High A Potomac in the first game of their doubleheader, starting at 5:05 PM. He will throw approximately 40-50 pitches.

Detwiler has been out since May 15th with a strained oblique. Before the injury, he had a 2.76 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in eight starts with a 2-4 record. He will likely return to the team on June 13th or 14th, but the team needs a starter for June 12th in Colorado unless they want to pitch someone on short rest. As such, it seems likely that Ross Ohlendorf, previously shut out of the majors by the rain delay that allowed the Nats to skip his rotation spot, will make a start for the Nats soon.
