Lineups: Nats Gun For Doubleheader Sweep And Series Win

After this afternoon’s 7-0 drubbing of the Twins, the Nats will look to keep the pressure on and maintain their offensive success as we head to the nightcap. (You can tell I’m trying to avoid the word “momentum” after what happened a few days ago.) The ball will go to Nate Karns (1-1, 6.00) who has not been stellar, but has kept the Nats in games and done pretty well for a rookie coming up from Double A. For Minnesota, starter Sam Deduno also began the year in the minors. He had a 2.70 ERA in three starts, and now has a 3.44 ERA in three major league starts, despite a 1.31 WHIP. In other news, Denard Spanwill return to the lineup tonight after missing the day’s first game. He fouled a pitch off his foot last night. Here are tonight’s lineups:

Span CF

Roger Bernadina LF

Ryan Zimmerman 3B

Adam LaRoche 1B

Jayson Werth RF

Ian Desmond SS

Anthony Rendon 2B

Jhonatan Solano C

Karns RHP

Jamey Carroll 3B

Chris Herrmann C

Joe Mauer 1B

Josh Willingham LF

Chris Parmelee RF

Aaron Hicks CF

Eduardo Escobar 2B

Pedro Florimon SS

Deduno RHP
