Lineups: Zimmermann Helms Game 1 Of Doubleheader

After last night’s disappointing loss, a win against these weaker teams is becoming more and more imperative. Fortunately for the Nats, their 2013 ace is hitting the mound in the first game of this doubleheader. Jordan Zimmermann (8-3, 2.16) has been the team’s stopper all season, which is the opposite of what can be said about Twins starter Scott Diamond. Diamond is 4-4 with a sky-high 4.66 ERA. However, the Nationals have struggled against bad pitchers this year, so it will be interesting to see whether they can finally beat up on one in Diamond. Here are today’s lineups:

Jeff Kobernus CF

Steve Lombardozzi LF

Ryan Zimmerman 3B

Adam LaRoche 1B

Jayson Werth RF

Ian Desmond SS

Anthony Rendon 2B

Kurt Suzuki C

Zimmermann RHP

Eduardo Escobar 3B

Clete Thomas LF

Ryan Doumit C

Justin Morneau 1B

Chris Parmelee RF

Aaron Hicks CF

Brian Dozier 2B

Pedro Florimon SS

Diamond LHP
