Zimmermann Tries To Clinch Series And Winning Homestand

After a 3-2 record in the first five games of their seven-game homestand, the Nationals will look to lock down winning records in the homestand and their series against the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight. As much as they have struggled in stringing wins together this season, the Nats’ chances look good tonight. They have scored a combined 13 runs in their last two games, and NL Cy Young contender Jordan Zimmermann on the mound. Zimmermann is 10-3 with a 2.26 ERA this season, while the Nationals are 12-3 in his starts. He allowed one unearned run over eight innings in his most recent start against the Rockies. Opposite him, the Diamondbacks will start Wade Miley, who was the NL Rookie of the Year runner-up behind Bryce Harper with a 16-11 record and 3.33 ERA in 2012. Despite his past success, he has struggled this season, going just 4-6 with a 4.70 ERA. Here are tonight’s lineups:
