Strasburg Seeks Sweep Of Diamondbacks Despite Weather

With close wins in their past two games, the Nationals will gun for the sweep of the Arizona Diamondbacks this afternoon behind one of their aces, Stephen Strasburg. Strasburg is just 4-6 this season, but has a 2.40 ERA and is coming off one of his best starts of the year: seven one-run innings against the Colorado Rockies in which he allowed five hits and walked none while striking out nine. In his past seven starts, Strasburg has not allowed more than one earned run and the Nationals are 5-3. As good as Strasburg has been, he will have quite a challenge in Diamondbacks ace Patrick Corbin. Corbin has been stellar this season, going 9-0 with a 2.19 ERA. The Diamondbacks are 14-1 in his starts, but he has allowed four earned runs twice in his past five starts. The biggest challenge to both may well be the weather, as the game’s start is officially delayed due to rain. Here are this afternoon’s lineups:
