Rain Casts Doubt On Harper's Second Game

After he homered in his first at-bat yesterday, what does Bryce Harper have in mind for his encore? We may not find out until tomorrow, as it is currently raining at Nationals Park and is showing no signs of letting up. Weather.com seems to think the rain will peter out soon, but the radar map shows a pretty big storm system converging on D.C. If tonight’s game does indeed go on as scheduled, the Nats will start Stephen Strasburg, who has been dominant of late. In his past eight starts, he has thrown 45 innings and allowed just eight runs, good for a 1.47 ERA. Despite this, he has an unimpressive 4-6 record because he is last in baseball in run support. Harper will look to change that tonight, and he has a good shot against Brewers starter Wily Peralta. Peralta was great in his first MLB action last year, with a 2.48 ERA in 29.0 IP, but has regressed a ton this year, and now has a 5.58 ERA and a 1.61 WHIP. Here are tonight’s lineups:

Denard Span CF

Jayson Werth RF

Harper LF

Ryan Zimmerman 3B

Adam LaRoche 1B

Ian Desmond SS

Anthony Rendon 2B

Strasburg RHP

Norichika Aoki RF
