Gio Takes On Padres

Ever since April, Gio Gonzalez has pitched like one of the best pitchers in baseball. Since allowing five runs in four innings against Atlanta on April 30th, which boosted his ERA to 5.34, Gio has allowed more than two runs in a start just once and dropped his ERA to 3.09. He also had success against San Diego in that timeframe, allowing just two earned runs over 6.2 innings on six hits and three walks in a game the Nats would win in extras, 6-5. The Padres will send Andrew Cashner(5-3, 3.31) to the mound, who allowed three earned runs in 6.2 IP against the Nats in a 13-4 Padres shellacking. Here are tonight’s lineups:
