Zimmermann Takes On Padres After Series Opener Victory.

After a promising 8-5 victory over San Diego Friday night, the Nationals will send Jordan Zimmermann out to the rubber to oppose the Padres Saturday afternoon. Zimmermann will be looking for his 13th victory of the season as the Nats seek to move 3 games above the .500 mark. The offense will also look to keep up its recent surge. Bryce Harper hasn’t been carrying the Nats by any means, but his presence alone has led to a stronger more consistent offensive presence from the lineup. Fans seem to have taken notice, as the average price for nationals tickets in July is $52 compared to an average of $34 for the first three months of the season.
On the other side, San Diego will send right gander Jason Marquis to the mound. Marquis, a veteran sinkerballer, has enjoyed a comeback 2013 season, as he has nine wins and a sub 4 ERA.

On the MLB side of things, the all star teams will be announced at 6:30 tonight. Nats fans will see whether Ian Desmond, Bryce Harper , and Zimmermannhave made the National League All-Star.
