Strasburg Seeks Sweep Of San Diego

After yesterday’s close win, the Nats will gun for their first sweep of any team since they took two from the Detroit Tigers two months ago. They are lucky to be behind Stephen Strasburg this afternoon, who has been red hot. He has baseball’s best ERA, at 1.29, since May 11th. He has not allowed more than two earned runs in a start in that span, and threw eight one-run innings against the Padres on May 16th. However, the Nats are 4-5 in those past nine games, and Strasburg is last in baseball in run support received. Padres starter Robbie Erlin began the season as a reliever before moving to the rotation, and is 1-1 with a 4.34 ERA. Here are this afternoon’s lineups:
