Haren Returns As Nats Head To Philly

It is a day that Nats fans have dreaded, but it is come. Dan Haren is returning from the DL. Before his DL stint, he had a 6.15 ERA, the worst in baseball. He had allowed 19 home runs, the most in baseball at the time. He is 4-9, but coming off two weeks of rest in which he says he worked on his pitches. If he gets hit like he was earlier in the season, all may be lost. The Nationals could be pressed to pursue a starter to replace Haren, even though they have said they are not likely to make any big moves after acquiring Scott Hairston, who will make his team debut tonight on the bench. However, Haren is lucky to have the struggling ex-Nat John Lannan(1-3, 5.15) on the mound for the Phillies. Lannan has started just seven games this season due to injury. Here are tonight’s lineups:

Ryan Zimmerman 3B

Jayson Werth RF
