Nats Attempt To Save Dignity And Avoid Sweep

The Atlanta Braves have won the NL East. It’s a hard sentence to read, but nonetheless true. It’s over. Only one team ever has come back from the deficit the Nationals face. They will not be the second. They’re eight games out of the second wild card as well, and aren’t likely to make a run for it. However, playoff position notwithstanding, the Nats need to win tonight to have a semblance of dignity. That’s it.

They’ll face Kris Medlen (8-10, 3.85) with Jordan Zimmermann(13-6, 3.06) on their mound. Here are tonight’s lineups:
