The Nationals have traded the 3rd best outfielder on their team, David DeJesus, to the Tampa Bay Rays for a bag of balls or a PTBNL or cash. While everyone likes cash, somehow in baseball trades it’s the absolute least exciting thing you can make a trade for.
Apparently, the Nats were trying to stop DeJesus from going to another “contender” , but forgot that they aren’t actually contenders anymore. That or they misspelled Schierholtz in the waiver claim and wound up with DeJesus instead. Either way, this caps a very odd sequence of events for DeJesus and the Nationals.
Nats 3-1 in the DDJ era. That’s 122-40 over a full season

Well, if the Nationals go on an epic losing streak, we’ll all know why.
