Nats Send Out Strasburg against Miami

After a strong start from Ross Ohlendorf lead the Nats to a 2-1 victory in the series opener, Davey Johnson wil hand the ball to Stephen Strasburg in game 2, hoping the big right hander will continue his recent stretch of going deep into games. Two starts ago, Strasburg recorded his first career shutout when he went the distance against the Phillies. Last time out, Strasburg went 8 2/3 strong before giving up a two fun homer to Brian Bovusevic that ended a strong performance on a bad note. Regardless, Strasburg seems to be coming into his own again at a time in the season when the team badly needs him to be excellent every time out. The Marlins shouldn’t really give Stras any trouble as the team ranks dead last in the big leagues in a host of offensive categories. The Marlins will counter with right hander Henderson Alvarez. Alvarez, who was acquired in Miami’s blockbuster deal with Toronto last offseason, has pitched well for the Marlins this year.
