Washington Nationals: Winter Meetings Day 3

Day three has now come and gone and the Washington Nationals got better on Wednesday. Around 2:00 PM Eastern time Wednesday, the deal became official that the Nationals would be sending 2013 Minor League Player of the Year Billy Burns to Oakland for left-handed reliever Jerry Blevins. You can read the breaking story here.

The pretty much completes the offseason for the Nationals as they got everything they wanted coming into this winter. It was a successful Winter Meetings in my eyes, when you can get a lefty reliever and not have to pay any extra money. The Nats did have to send Burns to Oakland but as Rizzo points out, the Nats have a surplus of young outfielders including Brian Goodwin.

The heat must be getting some people as some tension was let out in the parking lot. Two agents, not sure who, got into an altercation in the parking lot of the Dolphin Hotel, in Orlando, Florida. It was just a tussle it seems, but none the less, it was an entertaining moment for the people in Orlando. The Winter Meetings haven’t been as exciting as one would have thought, but some deals have gone down. You can read about the altercation here.
