Washington Nationals: News & Links 1/27

The Washington Nationals have finished up NatsFest and now we are in the home stretch for Spring Training. Speaking of NatsFest there were some great quotes and news spread in that quick four hours. We are covering each useful piece of info we can, and so are other sites. Here is what some of them had to say about the Nationals and some of the players.

Tanner Roark finished the 2013 season in the Majors but spent most of it at Triple-A Syracuse. Where does he end up in 2014? Well, he hopes to win the fifth starter job for the 2014 season. Doing so would send Ross Detwiler to the pen to join Jerry Blevins as the other left-handed pitcher. Here is what Federal Baseball had to say about Roark and his pursuit of the starting rotation.

Sammy Solis has never pitched in the Major Leagues but after the fall he had in Arizona he could be seeing his first bit of action in 2014. He would be another lefty reliever the Nationals could use if needed later on in the season. He is ready to help if needed. Here is what Federal Baseball had to say about Solis.

Livan Hernandez wants to get back into baseball and coaching is the only way that is possible. He wants it to be with the Nationals and he hopes to be in spring training this year. Here is what MASN had to say about it.
