By Ryan Ritchey
The Super Bowl is over which officially declares it to be baseball season. The earliest team to report to spring training will be the Arizona Diamondbacks who report to camp on the sixth. The Washington Nationals have stayed out of the news but with less than two weeks until spring training you shouldn’t expect anything else.
Here are some links from around the web that have been posted within the last couple of days.
Federal Baseball: Ross Ohlendorf: Old Time Delivery
Federal Baseball: Syracuse Chiefs: New Beginnings
MASN: Plenty of players fighting for bench roles
MASN: Lucas Giolito named top Nats prospect by Baseball America
Also this month we will break down how each Nationals player stacks up against the entire National League at his position and also against the entirety of Major League Baseball. This is something fun to do just to see how each player stacks up on paper against the rest. We will being using a plethora of statistics from OPS, BABIP, FIP, K/9, and WAR. Those are just a few. Using all of those we will find out where each Nationals player stands and see where production needs to be picked up because of the lack at a certain position.
We will be starting those today, with Stephen Strasburg, to be posted around 6 PM, so be on the lookout for that! Have a great day Nats fan!
