Strasburg Named Opening Day Starter

In what is not exactly surprising news, Stephen Strasburg has been named as the Washington Nationals Opening Day starting pitcher.  He will pitch against the New York Mets on March 31st in New York.

Rumor out of the Mets camp is that Dillon Gee will be the opening day starter for New York.  That makes sense, because Gee tends to pitch very well against the Nationals.

Strasburg, the official number one pitcher in the National’s rotation, was projected to start opening day.  He has had a good spring training.  Through March 19th, Stephen has a 2-0 record and has pitched nine innings without allowing a home run.  He has only allowed one run and five hits.

Stephen appears to be ready to go.
