Strasburg Takes the Mound as Nationals Go For Sweep

After a thrilling 10-7 victory over the Marlins last night, the Nationals will send Stephen Strasburg to the mound as they try to complete their second sweep of the season. First pitch is scheduled for 4:05 p.m.

Strasburg will make his third start of the season as he tries to improve from a rocky start against the Braves last Saturday in which he gave up six runs (three earned) on five hits over four and a third inning. It wasn’t all bad for Strasburg, however, as the right-hander also finished the day with six strikeouts and a big part of his struggles were caused by poor defense behind him.

Regardless, Strasburg has not had the start everyone envisioned him having in 2014 and today’s game against the Marlins is a good opportunity for him to change his luck–and his 6.10 ERA–for the better.

The Marlins, who are coming off a heart-breaking loss last night, will send right-hander Tom Koehler to the mound as they try to salvage a win against the 6-2 Nationals.
