The Washington Nationals and Miami Marlins will make up last Tuesday’s postponed game when the Marlins visit Nationals Park for the last series of the season September 26.  The game will be made up as part of a split double-header, the team announced via Twitter.

The makeup game will be played at 1:05 p.m. EST while first pitch for the regularly scheduled game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m EST.  Thanks to Tuesday night’s rain-out, the Nationals will now end the 2014 season with a five-game series against the Marlins, which could prove to be important if both teams remain close in the standings at the end of September. As of Thursday afternoon, the third-place Nationals are two and a half games back of the Marlins for second place in the division, and three games behind the Atlanta Braves for first.
