This offseason has yet to be very productive as far as trades go for the Washington Nationals. Just this past week, Howie Kendrick, who the Nationals had been rumored to be looking at for second base, went to the Los Angles Dodgers. There have been a lot of rumors that have involved Nationals’ trades but there have been no major moves made. This may be a good strategy for the Nationals because they know they have a good thing going with the players they have. The only problem with this is that many of the key players they would want to keep around, are up for free agency after this season. The Washington Nationals won 96 games in 2014 and will return a majority of their roster for 2015. As such, they do not need any huge upgrades this offseason, which why they have been quiet so far. That said, they do still have some room to add a player or two and bolster their chances for 2015, and re-signing Asdrubal Cabrera makes plenty of sense for them.
