Nationals’ fans certainly have reason to look back on 2014 fondly. There were walk-offs and sensational catches and even a no-hitter. They managed to capture their second National League East crown since moving to the District in 2005 and went into the playoffs as the top seed in the National League. Unfortunately, the team fell short of its goal of a World Series, which is certainly where they’ll set their sights this year.
So, can the Nationals really be a legitimate title contender in 2015? There’s no reason to think they can’t. They’ve got a group of hitters that can hit with the best of them, a pitching staff that is rivaled by none, and an excellent mix of young stars and veteran leaders.

Going into the offseason, every major league team has plenty of spots on their roster that they’d like to improve in order to give them the best chance to make a run into late October. Even as good as they are on paper, the Nationals are certainly no different. Mike Rizzo still has plenty of time and options to consider before the season kicks off.
In honor of the New Year, we here at District on Deck have been listing our “resolutions” for the team, things that we’d like to see them accomplish during 2015. I’ve put together a few of my wishes for the year, which I like to call the Washington Nationals’ 2015 New Year’s Rizzo-lutions. Enjoy!
