Washington Nationals: Jayson Werth’s eventful offseason

This has been a very eventful offseason for Jayson Werth, just not in the way the Washington Nationals wanted. In the past month alone, Werth has been through serious shoulder surgery and was sentenced to five days in jail for reckless driving. Even though this is a very short sentence, this is the last thing that should be on any players’ mind so close to the start of Spring Training. To make matters worse for Werth, he is currently going through rehab for his shoulder and his plans for Opening Day are up in the air.

So what does this mean for Werth’s upcoming season?

If the Nationals have their way, Werth’s jail time and shoulder rehab will have no negative effect on his performance in 2015. Read full article here.
