The final part of our NL East 2016 rankings looks at which team has the best manager?

Throughout the offseason, we have ranked the NL East by position heading into the 2016 regular season. Today, we bring you the final position ranking, but it’s not an on-field position. For this list, we are going to look at which team has the best manager in the NL East.

As Washington Nationals’ fans saw last season with Matt Williams, having a good manager is important to a team’s success. Just look at the Mets, for example. Their manager, Terry Collins, finished third in the Manager of the Year voting in the National League behind Joe Maddon of the Chicago Cubs.

When you look at the managers in this division, there are mostly the same faces. The only differences are down in South Beach where Don Mattingly takes over as the manager for the Miami Marlins, replacing Dan Jennings (now in the Nats’ front office) and in Washington D.C. as Dusty Baker is back in the dugout for the first time since 2013, when he was with the Reds.
