Despite being endorsed by Nats GM Mike Rizzo, the Baseball Hall of Fame’s Game Era Committee did not send former manager Davey Johnson to Cooperstown. He would’ve joined former Braves GM John Schuerholz and retired commissioner Bud Selig, but failed to earn the 12 votes required.

Coming off a season in which they won the National League East for the third time in five seasons, the Nationals are still fighting to get over the hump of winning a playoff series.
