Pablo has been a baseball fan for as long as he can remember. He loves everything about the game, and he loves writing about it too. After covering the Nationals for the MLB Talk 101 Network and his own blog, Nats Wired, Pablo joined District on Deck as a staff writer and became editor in February 2014. Baseball is his passion and he intends to make writing about it a career. Any feedback on his writing is appreciated! You can also follow him on twitter @PabloRoaMLB.
Ryan is beginning his second stint with the FanSided Network and is beginning his first stint with Halo Hangout as editor. He recently finished an internship with the Cincinnati Reds Triple-A affiliate, the Louisville Bats in the media relations department. He is currently a Junior at Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky where he broadcasts men's and women's basketball, along with baseball and wants to broadcast professional baseball after graduation.
Scott joined the District on Deck writing staff prior to the start of 2014 season. Previously, he complained with friends and flirted with the idea of advanced metrics. Scott also runs the site thenattydugout.com where he writes about all things baseball.
Brandon grew up with an intense love of sports and a passion for writing. Putting the two together seemed only natural. Before joining FanSided, Brandon worked on his own sports blog, as well as a few short stories and a novel. When he isn't watching, listening, or reading about football or baseball, Brandon can be found reading, listening to music, or playing video games. Follow him on Twitter @huntingthesnark
I'm a devoted sports fan and baseball is my first love. Huge Nationals and Capitals Fan. I believe that the day pitchers and catchers report should be a national holiday. I'm a reformed Red Sox fan, which is the team I followed when I was a kid because DC had no baseball team. I'm also a reformed Redskins fan, at least until Dan Snyder sells the team. I live in Northern Virginia with my husband and two teenagers. The teenagers help me with the remotes and with getting MLB TV to work on the TV so I can watch all of the games. Rufus is my poker nickname, and it stuck, so if you are looking for me on Twitter, its rufusdrl.
Hi everyone!! I'm currently a freshman at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio and I wrote for and was the editor for the sports section of the Horizon, my high school paper. On the baseball side of things, I've been a huge fan of the game most of my life and accept any chance I can get to take in a game. I have supported the Nationals for a while now and enjoyed seeing their rise to power in 2012. Go Nats!
I am a student at Fordham University who is pursuing a career in sports journalism. I am originally from the D.C area and have been a passionate Nationals fan since the day they arrived. Baseball is my first love and I am at my happiest when I am playing or watching any game, anywhere.
When your dad is from Massachusetts, you grow up a Red Sox fan. That's just the way things go. All that changed when Aaron Boone killed another season for me in 2003. I swore off of the team. I had had enough. Even when they won the Series the following season, I refused to be a hypocrite and celebrate the victory (other than congratulating family). After a three-year sabbatical from having a favorite team, I decided to go all-in with the Nats, coinciding with a move into DC. Haven't looked back since. In Rizzo, I trust......... PS: When I'm not writing about the Washington Nationals, I am probably reviewing a book over at my personal blog.
Kyle Franzoni has the unfortunate distinction of having his very first baseball memory be that of Mookie Wilson's slow grounder going through the legs of Bill Buckner. Since then, it has been an up and down love affair with the game, which naturally lead to putting his thoughts to digital paper and trying his hand at writing about the game he loves. A native of Vermont, where he lives with his wife and twin sons, Kyle is editor of Jays Journal and is the Editorial Director for FanSided MLB.
We aren't called FanSided for nothing. Our network of sports, entertainment and lifestyle sites are powered by fans that want to cover their passions! Whether you are just looking to get your start in online media or you want to contribute to your favorite site as a hobby, FanSided wants to hear from you.
Our work is regularly featured on SI.com and Bleacher Report and many FanSided writers have gone on to work full-time in online media. FanSided hired over ten of its own writers in 2013 and there are currently FanSided alums working at other major media outlets and with professional sports teams.
FanSided was born in 2007, when two brothers felt that their favorite team, the Kansas City Chiefs, was being under-covered by the mainstream media. Taking matters into their own hands, they launched Arrowhead Addict, a move that would spawn a network of over 290 fan-powered unique sports and entertainment sites dedicated to team-specific, sport-specific, genre-specific, and fanbase-specific coverage.
From sports, movies and TV to lifestyle and tech, FanSided has you covered.
