Bocock made his MLB debut for the Giants in 2008 after hitting .223 at High A the season prior. He played in 32 games, hitting only .143 in 77 at bats, before being sent to AAA. He started the 2009 season at AA, but hit .171 and sank back to High A. The Giants waived him after the 2009 season, and he was claimed by the Toronto Blue Jays, who also waived him, and he was finally claimed by the Philadelphia Phillies. He played five games in the majors for Philadelphia in 2010, going hitless in five at bats, but was quickly sent back to AAA. After stops with the Pirates and Blue Jays again, Bocock became a free agent this offseason. He will likely serve as minor league depth for the Nats.
