Jordan Zimmerman Goes to Rehab

Rookie starter Jordan Zimmermann is set to make a rehab start tonight for the Potomac Nationals, his first since going on the 15 day DL with an elbow injury.  Zimmermann is no stranger to Potomac though, having gone 3-1 with a 1.65 ERA through five starts with the P-Nats in 2008.  He is expected to be on a short leash though with a likely four inning limit.

Jordan Zimmermann was 3-5 with a 4.63 ERA as a rookie this year befor going on the disabled list on July 22nd.  He did however post an impressive 92 strikeouts through 91.1 innings with only 29 walks.  Hopefully the team’s improved hitting and defense will help Zimmermann win a few more games when he makes his way back into the major league rotation.  It’s unclear who will lose his current spot in the rotation once Jordan is healthy but one has to assume it will come down to J.D. Martin or Garrett Mock.
