Natstown Nation pay attention because what we have here is a free contest with prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes. The game is simple as you will choose five MLB players, and earn points for that player’s ranking in the triple crown categories HR, AVG, and RBI for all of MLB. Points are given to players who rank in the top five in each category, and selected players failing to place in the top ten will earn -1 point for each category for that entry score. First place will earn a trophy bat,rough rider shirt, and $100 Visa gift card. Second place will earn a $50 Visa gift card, and third place finish will earn a $25 Visa gift card.
Here’s how to get started! First the contest is only open to registered members of this site, so click on register and create a user name. Next select five MLB players who you believe will dominate in any or all of the triple crown categories. Finally email roughrider2308@gmail.com your 5 MLB players along with your user name, and please include TNW Triple Crown Contest in the subject of your email. You will receive a confirmation on your entry by email only. The contest will only be using stats from the upcoming 2011 regular season (no preseason or post season stats) , and selected players who are injured can not be substituted. Official winners will be announced after the regular season, and winners will be instructed by email how to claim their prize. All entries will be identified by their TNW user name.
There is only one entry per user name. You will also have the same selected players throughout the season as there are no drops or adds, so choose wisely. Bi weekly standings will be posted, so periodically check the site to see where you rank. Rankings are measured for all of MLB and not separated by leagues.
Scoring is as follows:
5pts for first place rank per category
4pts for second place rank per category
3pts for third place rank per category
2pts for fourth place rank per category
1pt for fifth place rank per category
-1pt for any player not in the top ten for each category (-3 total max for each player selected)
