Trailing 8 to 5 in the bottom of the 8th, Washington rallied to put up 9 runs on a walk and 9 hits including 5 doubles (2 by Harper) and a Rick Ankiel home run. Washington took a 6 run lead going in to the 9th and would not trail again improving their record to 5 and 3 this spring.

In total the Nats put 14 hits, 6 doubles, 2 home runs (R. Zimmerman and R. Ankiel), 4 walks and 14 runs

11 different Nationals players got hits and 8 players drove in at least 1 rbi for the Nationals.

It was far from a perfect game for the Nationals with them having committed 3 errors on the game and the Astros scoring a total of 9 runs on them. But as the saying goes a win is a win and for a team that started last spring by going 0 and 11 it’s definitely a win I will take.

Up next for the Nats is the New York Mets tomorrow at 1:10 pm
