By Editorial Staff

Ryan Zimmerman, along with other Nationals ballplayers are on the ballot for this year’s All Star Game, hosted at Chase Field in Phoenix, AZ. Despite being on the 15 day disabled list with an abdominal tear, the Nats 3rd basemen currently leads all 3rd basemen in Major League Baseball with an on-base percentage of .486 and is 2nd in Batting Average (.374), 17 points behind Phillies 3rd basemen Placido Polanco.
Also on this year’s ballot is your 1st basemen, Adam LaRoche. LaRoche, in his first season in Washington has consistently been in the Top 25 in the categories of Hits, Runs, and RBI’s for all MLB 1st Basemen. He is also 7th in Base of Balls amongst all 1st basemen in the NL. On the defensive end, Nats Number 25 is in the Top 10 in Put Outs and Assists with no errors on the year.
Another deserving National on the ballot this season is 2nd basemen, Danny Espinosa. Having made the transition to Major League baseball and the leadoff spot, Espinosa has become quite the spark the Nats needed. The league leader in triples for the 2011 season also has shown significant promise through his ability to get on base and score runs as he cracks the Top 10 in Walks and Runs Scored.
Rounding out the Nationals All-Star candidates are Jayson Werth, Pudge Rodriguez, Ian Desmond, Rick Ankiel, and Mike Morse at their respected positions.
Voting ends on Thursday, June 30th, 11:59PM ET so be sure to log you maximum number of votes and get your Nationals the exposure they deserve!
