By Andrew Flax
Triple A Syracuse starter and former major league regular Ross Ohlendorf will start in place of the injured Stephen Strasburg on June 8th, according to FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal.

Ohlendorf has a career 5.10 ERA in eight MLB seasons, including a 7.77 mark in 48.2 innings with the San Diego Padres last season. He has not been particularly excellent at Syracuse this season either, with a 4.32 ERA in 11 starts, but he has been great of late, striking out 11 in consecutive starts while only allowing one total run. Hopefully he can continue his hot streak, but the team must also hope that he makes as few starts as possible. If Strasburg returns as soon as he is eligible, Ohlendorf should only have to start twice.
