Bryce Harper will likely start his rehab assignment at Potomac on Tuesday, and won’t spend a lot of time there if all goes well. The timing of his return will be dependent on how good his knee feels and how well it performs in game action. He could return to the team as early as Thursday at home or Friday in New York. It’s so close I can taste it.

Reliever Ryan Mattheus has been out since May 19th with a broken hand he suffered punching a locker. He was frustrated after allowing five runs in an inning to the San Diego Padres, bumping his ERA to 4.96, and was diagnosed with a two-month recovery time. He will likely come in around that time, as he has recently started playing catch and should return in four weeks.
