Wilson Ramos drove in his first RBI of the afternoon on a single that scored Ian Desmond in the second. Bryce Harper added two more runs on a single that scored Denard Span and Ramos.
Desmond started the offense in the third on a RBI single that scored Ryan Zimmerman. A Jayson Werth walk and Span single loaded the bases for Ramos, who delivered with a grand slam home run to left center.
The Mets were able to get to Jordan in the fourth when Marlon Byrd drove in Eric Young Jr. on a single to center.
The Nationals quickly extended their lead back to eight in the bottom half of the fourth inning when Werth singled to left and scored Anthony Rendon.
The Nats offensive onslaught continued in the sixth. Desmond added his second RBI of the afternoon when he singled in Werth. Span later hit a two run homer, his second of the season, to right center.
Taylor Jordan was pulled in the sixth after giving up just one run. He also walked one, gave up five hits, and struck out seven.
Craig Stammen, Ian Krol, and Ryan Mattheus pitched consecutive scoreless innings to close out the game for the Nats.
The Nationals have Monday off and travel to Detroit to start a two game series against the Tigers.
