Report: Nationals Park to Host Winter Classic in 2015

As some fans know the NHL Winter Classic is being held in Ann Arbor, Michigan this season, but in 2015 the Washington Capitals are hosting the event. The annual outdoor hockey game still needs a venue and according to a report, Nationals Park is the front runner to become the venue.

This is a great way to bring the two sports together and the entire Washington D.C. area together for one outdoor hockey game. Nationals Park opened back in 2005 when the Nats came to D.C, so this is one of the new stadiums around.
It isn’t very often that you get to mix hockey with baseball, but it looks like 2015 will be the chance. This is something special for the baseball fans that also like hockey. You get to head to Nats Park in January to take away some of the baseball withdrawal that has set in, but to take in a hockey game.
To go along with it, if the Nationals make it to the World Series this season, Nats Park could be hosting the Fall Classic in October and the Winter Classic in January. Also could be something special for Washington D.C.
