Washington Nationals: Nats on a Game of Thrones Small Council?
Grand Maester: Ryan Zimmerman
“As you know, Your Grace, it is not only the sworn duty of a Maeseter to carry out the wishes of the house he serves, but also to offer guidance and consol in times of war… If anything, a maester’s duties become more urgent in times of war and turmoil.” – Grand Maester Pycelle (S2 E9)
The 30 kingdoms are at war 2,430 times each year. As Grand Maester Pycelle said, the duties of the Maester are extremely important.
While he doesn’t have a gray beard just yet, Ryan Zimmerman is perfect for the job.
As the very first player drafted by the Nationals, Zimmerman has seen the good and the bad the realm has to offer. Because of this experience, he would be great at advising the King or Queen as to a proper course of action.
While Zimmerman is still young, this is to his benefit as he can stay in the job for decades and decades. Most maesters are old men, but Zimmerman is still only 34 years old.
