Not only did the Nationals sit idly by this weekend, so did the Mets.

The Mets weren’t playing either.

Obviously, if one team is out, there has to be another team sitting idly by as well. That team was the New York Mets. Normally, I wouldn’t wish ill will on any fan base. However, did you see some of the comments coming from Mets fans? Too many of them were not safe for the workplace, if you know what I mean.

Granted, I would be upset too, if I waited the entire summer to watch my team get back on the field. I would be upset too, if I wanted to see new additions like James McCann and Francisco Lindor. Oh wait, I am upset that Nationals fans haven’t been able to celebrate the 2019 World Series with the team on the field. I am upset Howie Kendrick didn’t get the proper farewell tour he deserved because a global pandemic ravaged the 2020 season. I am equally upset at not getting to see new additions Josh Bell, Kyle Schwarber, and Brad Hand.

You know what I am not doing? I am not bad mouthing the MLB for their policies and procedures. I am not tweeting venom every ten minutes at other teams as a way to vent my rage. I may send out the occasional message as a joke, all in good, clean fun, nothing heinous. What is waiting four more days to see some baseball? With 162 games to get through on the schedule, having three games at the beginning of the year being pushed back is small peanuts.

Bad news for the Nationals and Mets to be the first ones to postpone games starting the 2021 season. Odds are, they won’t be the only teams to do so.
