The Nationals have been picking up the pace in their last week of major league play. In last week's Friday article, the Nats had a 2-8 record in their last 10 games. Today we look and they are an improved 6-4 in their last 10. This includes a 5 game winning streak which began during the DMV area series against the Orioles, where the Nationals swept the series. With recent improvement of the major league club, we will also look into the successes of future stars that are thriving in the minor leagues.

Robert Hassell III

As his minor league successes will be discussed here, Hassell III received his first call-up to the big league club this week after Dylan Crews was placed on the 15-Day IL with back issues. Leading up to his call up, Hassell III has made his mark on Triple-A Rochester with a batting average of .288 and 24 RBIs in 43 games. While not quite MVP level output, Hassell's play has been still very solid for a Triple A prospect currently ranked 11th in the system, per MiLB. Credit to Hassell for his consistency - the fans will watch him closely in his time in the big leagues.

Daylen Lile

The 9th ranked prospect is due up in 2026, per MiLB projections, but given his current successes he may accelerate that timeline. In Triple-A Rochester, Lile is swinging a hot bat with an astounding .361 batting average and an OPS of .946. Lile was called up earlier this season from Double-A Harrisburg and has only improved on his performance. With no third outfielder being long-term locked up, perhaps Lile may find his opportunity sooner than later if he maintains the strong production.

Yohandy Morales

The 12th ranked prospect in the Nationals farm system has been very eye-opening thus far this season. After finishing each of the last 2 seasons in Double-A Harrisburg, Morales has begun a third season with the team with a red-hot start. Yohandy is currently batting .315 with a .886 OPS and .520 slugging percentage. These are standout numbers that may earn some conversations towards a major league promotion. Similar to Lile, Morales is due up in 2026. Though it remains doubtful he may see the majors this season, great success provides great optimism.

Angel Feliz

Feliz is a name that currently sits further down the list of prospects. At just the age of 17, Feliz is new to the farm system while he was recently signed in 2024 from the Dominican Republic. Playing rookie ball in the Florida Complex League, Angel has had much early success. Though the sample size is just 12 games, he owns an average of .333 with an OPS of .859 . This is fantastic despite it being very early beginnings. Nationals fans may want to keep his name in their heads as he projects to be a name heard to be on the rise in the next few years.
