While the Washington Nationals have not had a ton going on so far this offseason outside of some guys off their 40-man roster declaring minor league free agency like Riley Adams a couple weeks ago or Justin Lawrence and Max Kranick a few days ago, Nationals Park has stayed busy.

We can only hope that the home stadium of the Nationals will be busy at this time next year by hosting playoff games, but as of now, we don't even know if there will be baseball in 2027 at all. However, the venue was packed over a weekend in mid-October for a baseball event for the first time since 2019, as the Savannah Bananas hosted their inaugural 'Banana Bowl' at the home of the Nationals.

In the event, Nationals fans got a good opportunity to check out a couple of former franchise legends who faced off in a viral moment. If it gives you any sort of hint, the two former Nationals players share a last name...sort of.

If you weren't able to figure it out from the hint or have not yet seen the viral clips from their face off during the game, the former Nationals legends who took part were Ryan Zimmerman and Jordan Zimmermann, whose last names are separaed by just one letter. During the game they got a chance to go head to head with Jordan pitching to Ryan, bringing Nationals Park crowd to their feet.

After a few pitches, Jordan got Ryan to fly out to left field, bringing an end to their at-bat while the man who threw the first no-hitter in Nationals history got the best of Mr. National. Of course, at this point, both players have been retired for several years, but nonetheless it was awesome to see both franchise legends back on the field they once shared together.

2018 Stanley Cup Champion and beloved former Washington Capital TJ Oshie was also part of the festivities as he made a guest appearance, giving DC sports fans yet another familiar face to reminisce on good times with. He did not actually play in the game, but he did draw a major roar from the crowd and led them through 'Take Me Home, Country Roads,' which was his signature goal song with the Capitals.
