District On Deck MLB Free Agency Predictions

Free Agency is always one of the best times of the year. No matter what your team did or did not do last season, there is hope that the offseason brings welcome change. Unless of course you are an Oakland A's fan. Unfortunately it does not seem like welcome change will be coming to you.

Our staff here at District on Deck got together and compiled our predictions for the top MLB Free Agents, based on the Free Agent Rankings from MLB.com. Here's what we got:

Shohei Ohtani

Arguably the best Free Agent ever, Shohei Ohtani will be a hot commodity this offseason, likely to break the Free Agent contract record.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto

The 25 Year Old won Japan's Cy Young this past season and many believe he can be an ace for a Major League team.

Blake Snell

The likely two time Cy Young Award winner will finally hit Free Agency looking to cash in.

Cody Bellinger

The former MVP resurrected his career in Chicago, and will likely be paid handsomely because of it.

Aaron Nola

The reliable starter and longtime Phillie will cash in on Free Agency as he is one of the more durable arms in baseball.

Josh Hader

Arguably the best reliever in baseball hits the market, looking to set the reliever contract record.

Sonny Gray

One of the more underrated arms in baseball, Gray hits the market again with plenty of interest.

Jordan Montgomery

The deadline acquisition was instrumental in the Rangers World Series run. With no Qualifying Offer attached, Montgomery could be the most attractive arm on the market.

JD Martinez

One of the better bats on the market that won't require a long term commitment, Martinez should have plenty of interest as a DH.

Matt Chapman

One of the best defenders in the game, Chapman hits Free Agency for the first time with plenty of suitors.

Jorge Soler

The 30+ Home Run bat opts out of his deal after a strong season, and he should be rewarded for his efforts.

Eduardo Rodriguez

After vetoing a trade at the deadline, Rodriguez opts out of his deal and reportedly no longer has geographical restrictions on where he signs.

Jung Hoo Lee

The standout CF from Team Korea in the World Baseball Classic is expected to be posted this offseason.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr.

Gurriel Jr. excelled in Arizona following his trade from Toronto last offseason, and now he will cash in.

Shōta Imanaga

The other Team Japan star pitcher to be posted, Shōta Imanaga will have plenty of suitors.

Teoscar Hernandez

The slugger has value, but will likely be signed as a DH as he enters his mid 30s.

Rhys Hoskins

A Spring Training ACL tear makes Hoskins an intriguing bounce back candidate for 2024. With the Phillies moving Bryce Harper to 1B permanently, Hoskins will be looking for a new home.

Lucas Giolito

At the halfway point of 2023, Giolito appeared poised to break the bank in Free Agency. Now, he will likely look to rebuild his value.

Whit Merrifield

Getting better with age, Merrfield enjoyed an All Star campaign with the Blue Jays and will likely get one last payday.

Marcus Stroman

The reliably consistent Stroman hits Free Agency once again and should secure a multi-year deal.

Jeimer Candelario

The Switch-Hitting 3B bet on himself in 2023 and should secure a long term deal because of it.
